A New Maternity Home in Illinois
A Million Dollar Life Match grant supported a joint venture between Redeeming Life Outreach Ministries and congregations in northern Illinois.
For more than a decade, Redeeming Life Outreach Ministries (RLOM) has provided a safe and stable home in Sanford, Fla., where unwed, pregnant women learn the self-discipline necessary to provide a better temporal life for themselves and their families while also learning that they, too, are beloved children of God.
With the help of a grant from the Synod’s Million Dollar Life Match program, many congregations in the LCMS Northern Illinois District, along with host congregation Immanuel Lutheran Church in East Dundee, Ill., have partnered with RLOM to open a second maternity home in Illinois. After locating a suitable property and making significant renovations, that new maternity home began accepting applications from women in need in early 2024.
